of the best results and championships won until 2003. Just about the era
in which Marcel decided to specialise in middle distance and oneday long
distance racing with old birds.
Club Oostburg
In the period as mentioned above he entered in 110
middle distance races with old birds. From them 42x 1st was won and
36x 2nd. 110 races was good for 1,110 top 10 positions. That is an
average of approx 4 pigeons in the top 10 on every race … with an average
birdage of 200. The average number of club members in this period is 45 members.
Fed/Combine 1 + 7 (=Western
parts of South Flanders + Walcheren) (from 2002 only Western parts of South
Flanders)
In this combine 20x 1st was won against an average
of 1,350 birds, mainly on middle distance racing. Covering that period combine
1+7 had an average of 500 members.

1x 1st was won here on the race of Chateauroux

1st middle distance champion.

In 11 of the last 15 years (until 2003 ) he was
amongst the top 10 champions; of which 5x 1st.

The last years he was 5 times amongst the top 10
champions, of which 1x 1st.
National.
Best National middle distance loft 5th and 19th. Best
Nationale oneday long distance loft 4th
World championships (Versele Laga)
Middle distance old birds 6th and 11th
But also in the acebird championships and on short distance and oneday
long distance many 1st championships were won …
