| Since 1971 Marcel Buijsse is an active fancier in pigeon racing, however since his tenth year already he fed his father’s pigeons on the parental farm. Next to pigeon racing Marcel has also been a member of the board on all levels for about 25 years! From chairman in his club and Fed. until chairman of the Zealand Amalgamation, as well as elector and member of many comities. When the reclassification of the Amalgamations, in which Marcel had an important share, became a fact in the Zealand ’96 Amal. he felt the time was right to end the era of board membership. Next to these activities and a busy job as insurance consultant Marcel always ‘managed’ a colony of about 24 until 36 racing pairs and approximately just as much breeding pairs. |

To fit pigeon sport and the care of the pigeons into his busy daily schedule, the old birds have always been raced on the classic widowhood system with only cockbirds. Hens are only raced as youngsters. It is not easy to combine a busy job with a good schedule of training and darkening of the young birds. Therefore the stress is laid on the old bird races. The pigeons are housed in garden lofts. In the winter of 1981 / 1982 Marcel moved and sold all racers. |
From the late eighties on the decision was made to specialise in middle distance and oneday long distance racing. In November 2002 all his old pigeons (breeders and racers) were sold to Taiwan, 143 in total. Two cocks and six hens remained at the lofts. With these eight pigeons, some direct of De Klak from 2002 and from every breeding pair and best racers a very strictly selected number of youngster from 2002, a new start was made in de 2003 season.
