| Youngsters: The youngsters are trained by himself as far as the French border. Only the last 3 races they are basketed together with the birds of his fellow-fanciers in the Combine. |
| Yearling cocks. The yearling cocks are mated with hens that are raced natural. After some middle distance races they are not basketed any longer. After the season they must fill up the places in the loft of the widowhoodcocks. As 2 year olds they will be entered for the 2 day races. |
| Yearling
hens The yearling hens are mated with the widowhoodcocks. They are raced natural till the cocks go on widowhood. Later in fall they are raced from some shorter stations. The year that follows they are raced natural at long distance in case they have survived the selection of course. |
| Food
and other products Food is bought from 2 firms and is mixed. The composition depends on the season. Every fortnight the birds get beeryeast and garlic oil for 2 days mixed with the tood. Apart from that the birds will get gritt, pickstone, minerals. Doctor van der Sluis is the medical advisor. |
